About 4 years ago, I had an idea to sell the toughest and safest plush dog toys that i could find in a fun and unique style of a dogs “toy shop”.
I had grown up with golden retrievers since I was 5 years old and after losing our beautiful boy Robbie in 2020, I decided to have a girl retriever at some point in the future at a time that felt right.
I found an excellent breeder and phoned up to be put in a waiting list in a future litter, only to find that there was already a litter of 10 puppies at 4 weeks old……..
……..and only one girl available.
At first I cried, then in the next breath I asked if I could have her, not even asking the price lol.
I sent a video of Robbie growing up so the breeder knew the sort of life his puppy would have.
Obviously, I had to wait for our puppy to turn 8 weeks old, yet I truely saw it as a sign that I had found her so easily for a reason.
As a little girl, mom had always said a new dog doesn’t replace one, they help you heal.
Partner and I picked her up in April 2020, hence her name April (and April venger because she was our super hero)
So now I have a female golden retriever for the first time and after experiencing an absolute angel for a week, I soon realised that she was in fact a dinosaur! 🦕
Specifically, a velociraptor therefore nicknamed velocir April!!
There were teeth, claws, more teeth, attitude and even the heavy breathing short snorts through the nose, the way the velociraptor does it in Jurassic park!!
It was hilarious to see and this is where the idea of DOGOSAUR started!
And so
I then purchased the domain www.dogosaur.co.uk
Then!!
I had the idea of having another girl retriever as a best friend for April.
I stayed in touch with Aprils breeder and waited for another sign for the right time.
In January 2024, Aprils sister Rosie had a litter of puppies with Enzo. That was that, one of those puppies were the one!
Dad was a huge Formula One and racing fan (Enzo) and mom’s favourite flower is the rose (Rosie).
Therefore we had Sahara, Sandy for short because I love the beach.
Toys in pieces every day and life was similar to living in a permanent fluffy white cloud!!
I had two Dogosaurs now and so needed dog toys strong enough for a dinosaur!!
So who are Dogosaur?
Dogosaur is a small family run business, based in South Staffordshire near West Midlands.
Our aim is to find durable dog toys, the safest and strongest plush dog toys out there and put them all in one place here at Dogosaur.
Our values are that we would never sell anything to you, that we would not give to our own dogs as SAFETY is our priority.

Dogosaur works with the American brand Fluff and Tuff soft toys, to supply their excellent standard of plush dog tug toys, to everyone here in the uk.
Dogosaur also wants to help the environment through their products and so, we use eco friendly toys and packaging at every opportunity!
Hydrosaurs will love our new SEAFLEX throw and tug toys! They are environmentally friendly, made from recycled plastic bottles!
